Implementation Specialist (Insurance)

The Implementation Specialist ensures that purchased software systems, such as Employee Navigator, meet clients’ technical needs. Their job is to customize the software according to clients’ needs and specifications and teach clients how to use the software. Implementation specialist also work with carriers to obtain quotes for agents to present to clients and submits new and renewal business to carriers.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Acting as subject matter expert for Employee Navigator by regularly attending scheduled Employee Navigator trainings and sharing knowledge at team meetings.
  • Customizing Employee Navigator software based on clients’ individual needs and specifications.
  • Managing the integration between Employee Navigator and carriers or payroll providers.
  • Collecting and posting all supporting documentation, such as summary of benefits or Evidence of Insurability forms, from the carriers.
  • Collecting and importing all client’s employee data and prior enrollments.
  • Communicating with agents, payroll providers and carriers throughout the Employee software customization process to obtain feedback and approval.
  • Educating clients on how to use Employee Navigator and customized system features.
  • Updating client records in Employee Navigator at annual renewal for open enrollment.
  • Submitting and tracking new business and open enrollment coverage changes to carriers.
  • Preparing client quotes based on census utilizing quoting software, submitting RFP or carrier portals.
  • Contributing to customer service team by answering phone calls and service emails.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, computer information science, information technology, or a related field.
